The Doomsday engine is today considered obsolete, and a Doomworld user called Nightside successfully ported all maps to work on GZDoom, but has given up the project. The demo offers only the levels from the first episode of Wolfenstein 3D, but the final version will include all the maps from Wolfenstein 3D and Spear of Destiny.

A lot of enemy death animations were redrawn and new animations were added. For the demo, this counts only for the enemies of the first episode. For the complete version, there's plan to rework the remaining of them and add some new enemies. Download v5. Trying to make a set of Egyptian-themed single player levels with the same level of quality as Epic would make most mappers break down and cry. As typical with Eternal's maps, Epic oozes out more action than you can throw a stick at, and I'll be damned if MAP05 didn't live to the title of this WAD, because goddamn is it effin huge, and well There's also some really cool usage of Boom features, and creative use of flame torches to simulate run-down cars being caught on fire; isn't that a cool enough rreason to check out Epic?

It has 5 levels and requires a Boom compatible port like Zdoom 2. A set of really huge and beautiful 32 levels with awesome atmosphere, details and rocking music. The coolest gun in the game is the quadruple barrel shotgun. LoganMTM sets up a genuinely creepy atmosphere through use of ambient noises, spooky sountrack, and good use of lighting effects. This mod definitely shows its influences from Doom 3 and Quake 2.

There are quite a few cheap scares a la Doom 3, but it totally works for the mood. The gameplay style of this mod is a mixture between invasion and slaughter, and easily has provided me with some of the most action-packed gunfights ever in a Doom mod. The addition of new enemy AI makes the bad dudes a bit more tricky and unexpected.

Overall a well rounded, scary and atmospheric map set. Download provided by Doom World. In the role of Dr. Rolf Bellmer, you will explore previously unseen areas of the Black Mesa Facility. With true 3D architecture integral to the design of the maps and the whole theme being very much in the style of the original Half-Life, Paranoid seeks to capture a great deal of the feel of Half Life-like gameplay but in the Doom engine.

As you move from objective to objective, you will return to some maps you've previously visited. Most areas are designed to have a realistic look and design, with a multi-storey office building, a multi-storey prison facility, railway bridges, cafeteria, toilets, etc. Using the superlative modifier "best" is certainly a strong word to use when describing anything, especially when it is as as subjective as a game.

Phocas Island 2 certainly is not Doom; it is more akin to a first person Sierra adventure game if anything. It just feels otherworldly, something highly regarded when looking for interaction with a game. There is no "Doom" in it; in fact, there are hardly any FPS elements in the game.

The play is divided into an adventure game style where you must locate objects and places across the map and solve a number of tasks and puzzles to advance the story and escape the island. You'll visit breathtaking and extraordinary locales, like a hollowed out tree stump and a forest with a brilliant canopy overhead, underground mushroom caves, and ancient ruins.

The puzzles are challenging but not impossible, and there is a real sense of accomplishment when you complete a task or find a new item. This is a conversion of the Playstation version of Doom which had coloured walls, translucent lines, atmospheric music, and cool sound effects.

The license screen, loading screen and badass burning title screen are all present, along with the great theme tune. The fire sky, dark status bar, and enemy differences are all there. Alien Breed 3D was a valiant attempt at basically creating Doom but for the Amiga in , a machine that really wasn't suited for such tasks. The pixels were huge and the viewport was tiny, but it was a technically impressive 3D shooter considering the limitations.

It even had some features over Doom - the water effects were amazing and it supported 3D floors and even texture mapped models. It was the first real experience of a texture mapped first person world to the developer of this mod so it was somewhat of a revelation. It may not be anywhere near as tightly designed as Doom honestly some of maps are pretty bad , but the developer has a lot of nostalgia for it, and a place in his heart.

So, he decided his first major Doom engine project would be to recreate it and also, ideally, iron out some of the issues of the original. It features new weapons, monsters, textures, music, sounds, decorates, light effects, new monster deaths, Hud, maps, Episodes and many other different things. All decorate things are now breakable also the originals from Doom2.

This is considered one of the best megawads ever created. It includes a large amount of new textures, flats, music and graphics as well. As well as very complicated layouts and good use of textures, they create a very good ambience with good use of lighting to create a sinister atmosphere where needed.

Boasting an actually storyline, a massive logbook the player can read at his or her leisure, gorgeous level design, and some of the most fantastic music this side of any modern game. Elemental music will begin at tense moments to build atmosphere, scripted events occur around every corner as beautiful new textures and sprites adorn the levels all of which push the boundaries of an already ancient gaming engine.

Many Doomers were left with feelings of confusion as the storyline abruptly ended with the ending tying up few loose ends, and the planned two other parts were never completed. Another good pack, STRAIN includes 32 new levels, all new music, and a complete story which carries through the levels.

This is a multiplayer project inspired by crossover fighting games such as Super Smash Bros. When you play Samsara, you pick a hero from a classic FPS game, spawn in the battlefield with abilities and weapons from their original game, and then proceed to lay waste among all those that stand in your way in whatever iwad or levelset of your choice.

Each of the heroes are strictly limited to their own weapons, so you won't have a nonsensical random mash-up of people wielding weapons just not suited for them. Want to play in Heretic? No problem. Give Chex Quest a whirl?

Go right ahead. Wanted to like HeXen but didn't like the low amount of weapons? Go on, enjoy it. Want to go strictly vanilla and play Doom II? Be my guest. While obviously nothing will match pure vanilla for srs tourney play, if desired one can have a match full of Doomguys and have little to no differences from vanilla play--and someone joining in as Corvus should not dramatically change things.

Playing with them should be very much like playing their original game. Other heroes should not differ so drastically from Doom II that other mods would now be unplayable. Whether you play in co-op and tear through endless hordes of monsters or play in deathmatch and tear through whatever friends or enemies challenge you, Samsara offers you the ability to live through your favorite games again on new battlefields or new iwads entirely. Duke-Kit Beta1 kb uploaded by speedracer.

The last dozen maps are not only breathtaking for the sake of the wad itself, but all maps that have been made. Overgrown bases covered in vines and weeds, vast gothic cathedralesque locales, and sinister hellscapes are just a few of my favorite themes. The last few levels of this megawad are beautiful. Some may be turned off by the Hell Revealed style gameplay towards the end, but remember, monsters can be turned off as well.

Do yourself a favor and play Scythe 2 now, if you haven't already. And if not, what the hell is wrong with you? Followup: In , Erik Alm completed the final 3 maps that were missing from this build, and various bug fixes. This only reaffirms Scythe 2 as one of the best projects available for Doom Simplicity bridges the gap between enhanced levels with the aid of modern engines, and the simple gameplay that made Doom so addicting. The title, Simplicity, comes nowhere close to describing Agent Spork's masterpiece, as these levels are anything BUT simple.

Simplicity's architecture is phenomenal, and has that special touch that lets you know it's a SporkMap tm. Transparency is used to gorgeous results, slopes are used but integrated as to feel natural, and several new monsters make simplicity feel like an official Doom addon. Too often when a wad has "Requires ZDoom" I brace myself for particle fountains and ugly on screen messages from , but AgentSpork has managed to seamlessly integrate the power of ZDoom with the "simplicity" of the underlying Doom engine.

Coupled with one of the most creative secret levels conceived for Doom, Simplicity is easily one of the best. Ultimate Simplicity is a megawad comprised of 3 episodes, including 30 maps. It is essentially an overhauled version of the original Simplicity, with vast improvements made overall.

Simplicity provided by Wad Archive. This is a megawad and time-trial styled gameplay mod for GZDoom 3. In , an expansion pack, entitled Skulldash: Expanded Edition was released, allowing the mod to be played in GZDoom, and featuring an additional eighteen levels created by O'Sullivan and various mappers from across the Doom community.

The mod is intended to be played using the OpenGL renderer, with the effects of the software renderer ranging from sub-optimal visuals to major graphical glitches on some maps. The player is tasked with reaching the exit of each level within a set time limit, collecting tokens officially referred to as skulltokens along the way in addition to fighting monsters to reach as high a score as possible.

Most skulltokens are white in colour and add points to the player's score, though some different-coloured variants are also included, each performing a different function when collected: Green skulltokens provide the player with 25 armor points, and add 1, points to the player's score; Red skulltokens provide the player with 25 health points, and add 1, points to the score; Blue skulltokens add an extra five seconds to the remaining time, and add points to the score; Golden skulltokens are found rarely, but give the player armor points, as well as adding 50, points to the score.

If the player manages to collect every skulltoken, they will be rewarded with a high value health-item usually a soulsphere or megasphere at the exit, and their score for the level will be doubled. If the player fails to reach the exit in time, they will be automatically killed and have to restart the level. A set of four levels created by Espi, he has squeezed every last ounce of what the Doom engine is capable of to give us this masterpiece.

Sliding doors, 3D spacecrafts, blown open walls, floating crates Its largest saving grace is the plethora of textures and new artwork. It's no surprise that a map by Espi would feature breathtaking visuals, but it's impressive just how well they mesh with the already available stock Doom textures. Creeping along platforms that appear to be "suspended in dusk" and rising above bottomless chasms with broken pipes hanging around you is an experience I cannot describe; you must experience this wad for yourself.

It was meant to be a routine scouting mission of a planet categorised by the UAC as inhospitable and uninhabited. Great art, music, TONS of new enemies and a lot of content impressively and convincingly crossported from Quake 1. Fantastic level design.

There are even ambient sounds. This is a Total Conversion mod that aims to recreate the videogame by LucasArts "Zombies Ate My Neighbors" as a first person shooter, recreating the levels of the game as maps in a pseudo 3D environment.

It's not always but regularly aiming for a good conversion as long as it doesn't detract for the pace of the game. This is a gameplay Total conversion mod that was created in by Irontusk It's based on the Diablo Series by Activation Blizzard.

While its modified Wrath of cronos files could be compatible with most iwads. The TC mod takes Heretic and adds both a Hexen feel, and the Wrath of Cronos mod and adds monsters from the first 2 diablo games made by Activation Blizzard which actually owns Raven Software the author of Heretic.

While primarily a Total Conversion Heretic mod, it alters the gameplay by changing many other aspects, such as the sounds, graphics, and combat. One such change is the increased difficulty, making enemy behavior much faster, unpredictable and dangerous many attacks do double the normal damage to the player and altering their attacks.

It makes the animations smoother and gives the player new abilities, skills, a variety of weapons, and a storyline similar to the Diablo series. This little pwad allows easy access to Heretic's built-in 6th episode dubbed "Fate's Path" by fans. This grants access to three deathmatch oriented maps which are still Single Player capable. The exit is hidden as not to stick out against the map's basic design. Download 24kb uploaded by ModDB. See under Doom - jDoom for explanation.

Since then the game has been enhanced and extended, under the name of "Aleph One", by a team of developers on the Internet. Two of the biggest improvements to the game so far are the addition of OpenGL rendering and a built-in scripting language.

On its own, it's not useful since it doesn't have a game world a mod "scenario" in Marathon terms - it's just a runtime. You need to download scenarios files to work with it. In contrast to modern games where you first install the game, then install a series of scenarios and finally select the active scenario from within the game, with older games such as Marathon and hence, Aleph One you actually replace the game's original scenario files with the files of the scenario you want to play.

Now that hard drives are huge, it's practical to have one copy of Aleph One for each of the scenarios you want to play. One of the first full campaign mods for the original Marathon, continually updated for the newer versions. Nice and big too. It's both a level pack and a "what if" reimagining of the story. A completely new storyline, 20 brand new maps and original artwork made Devil In a Blue Dress the first behometh scenario ever released for the marathon engine.

Eternal's story is a direct, unofficial sequel to Marathon Infinity, the last installment of the original Marathon trilogy. Marathon Red creates bleak levels with many new monster enemies creating one of the scariest playing sensations ever at the point of its release. This is a remake of a significant portion of Myst, using some pretty hardcore engine tricks. Jason Harper is the Bungie Contest winner for best use of Forge.

His map "Missed Island" is a classic of Forge tweaking. An Aleph One conversion was later done by Craig Caroon. This continues the story of Bungie's Marathon trilogy. First released as Marathon:Rubicon in , four years in the making, Rubicon was the largest Marathon scenario project ever created.

The basic gameplay remains the same but the game looks a lot nicer due to the increased resolution. Little details like the flashing signs on the Frontier planets and the small spinning radar dishes on some of the ships are much improved and in some cases are properly visible for the first time. Generally the ships show a huge improvement, many small markings becoming apparent. The story is about Alcanor, the last apprentice of Serpent Riders mage.

Evil Excavation is the second half of the levels. Erebus was being mined by the ICF for minerals until they discovered the presence of an ancient artifact on the radars - a fleshy, pale beating heart. This could allow beings to open portals. Once discovered, the invaders attacked the mining zones, in which the thing that was hosting the artifact has used its powers to split parts of Erebus into floating zones in the void.

What could be harnessing its powers? Once the artifact is destroyed, it'll close the invaders' shortcut from Planet Hell for good. It uses Mark Knight's music once again and combines the weapons from the previous ports and most of the foes as well, which makes up for the lack of the mini-games in this one. Coloured lighting, lifts and doors with varying speeds, deep water, and plenty more features, but once again it is compatable for Skulltag as well.

Imperium is an 8-map episode powered by DeeperThought's DukePlus. The human race has expanded into the vast emptiness of space, colonizing countless worlds only to have ended up fighting aliens again.

The only one who can save the day is Duke, who has apparently managed to live hundreds of years to witness another war between humans and aliens. This backstory is played out rather well in the mod, delivered in the usual fashion via viewscreens. It also ties the maps together in a seemingly seamless manner. What's new is that the utilization of DukePlus has allowed the authors to create several story-driving cutscenes, most notably the voice-overed prologue.

But it's the maps that sell and Imperium consists of nothing but high-quality ones. They're all a bit Unreal-like, awe-inspiring and Conceptually Grand. The maps are mostly medium-size even if they seem huge and the maps actually have a moderate amount of enemies. It's worth noting that every music track in Imperium is custom-made by the Oostrum brothers. The Teleporting Experiment. Stepping Number.

To make the game feel more 2D and less frustrating, you will never be attacked from behind, and the level is entirely linear.

Action Doom featured several first and never before seen Doom tricks using the ZDoom engine. In the second level, the player is confronted with three separate paths to take. One path led on a high speed boat chase which allowed the player to manually control the boat and navigate a river dodging rocks. The third level featured what was to later become the first of a series of ACS mini games: Andrew "Linguica" Stine was responsible for the Doom Racer arcade machine, which was a parody of Rad Racer.

In terms of length, it has four levels, with an optional fifth level if played on the "Contra" setting. The WAD's gameplay and shelf life are expanded by the inclusion of five separate paths to take each with their own unique theme; however, none of them have any impact on the ending. It also features six new songs all created by Julian Aubourg. Probably the weirdest AND most ambitious Doom mod out there. Through clever spawning scripts, it randomly replaces all enemies and items in any given level almost all maps supported with equivalent but randomly chosen items from the history of the FPS genre.

A shotgun zombie may be replaced by a crazy old coot from Redneck Rampage, or an uzi-toting demon ninja from Shadow Warrior, for instance. Perhaps even 2d-ified versions of Quake and Quake 2 enemies! There are hundreds of enemy types, and almost as many weapons. It's relatively well balanced, though, and is in active development. Download v6. One of the best "Megawads" level episode for Doom 2 and rather new released at the end of The levels are partially interesting harder than the originals.

However, in particular levels 15 and 20 are not necessarily fantastic in my opinion. Download kb uploaded by Official Site. Some time in the next century, governments and world leaders embarked on the greatest and most terrible war in our history. Although brief, what started as a local war of attrition soon raged out of control.

The weapons the armies of that time wielded were incredibly powerful, reducing much of the planet to cinders. People, cities, even whole continents ceased to exist in a mere few hours. Not content with a life of toil working the dessicated soil, or a short one fighting in the militia, you are a scavenger, junker, Stalker.

The names are many, but the profession remains the same - searching the lost remnants of the old world for whatever valuables you can find. The people around you fear you for what you are and what you may someday bring back. You are a thief, a scoundrel. Without you, humanity would starve. But remember that the old world will not give up it's treasures easily. Bringing back something worth the risk is a miracle.

Coming back alive is a success. Everything else is fate. Ashes is a Post-apocalypse themed Total conversion, designed to be run in the Gzdoom or Qzdoom ports, and includes support for either software or hardware options.

Set decades after a worldwide catastrophe has reduced most of the country to toxic wasteland, the player takes on the role of a scavenger searching the ruins of "The City", a once thriving metropolis, for valuable items. Add bands of mutant cannibals, limited ammunition, and a mysterious group of gas-mask wearing para-military types prowling the rubble. Heavily inspired by 90's FPS games, 80's post-apocalyptic movies, and a shit-ton of other references, Ashes is designed to either run as a weapons mod, a map-pack, or as a full conversion, depending on the modules downloaded and run.

The first episode follows the basic framework of Ultimate Doom - every weapon has been replaced up to plasma rifle, 8 new monsters, and a full custom soundtrack courtesy of PRIMEVAL of this very forum. The planned second episode will include a lot more content than the original Doom, but I wanted to put out a "shareware" episode to get some feedback. A total replacement of DOOM 2 characters plus a few more 20 new characters. This has incredible new physics not seen in any other wads plus 9 new weapons and 28 new superb music pieces.

The game is divided into chapters, each of which involves Batman taking on the machinations of a different prominent villain from his Rogues Gallery and eventually facing the villain as a boss. Batman Doom remains one of the most acclaimed mods for Doom II; among other things; this is due to its Genius Programming, which is apparent to anyone with expertise in Doom editing; while modern source ports give the modders a wide freedom, the original Doom engine is notoriously inflexible, and yet ACE Team have managed to achieve some truly mind-bogglingly difficult tricks with it.

Everything about BGPA exudes quality, it's perfectly themed and all the settings mesh well: beaches, trenches, forests and enemy bases. Each level has a set of objectives that must be accomplished, and you will be helped along by other members of the resistance. You will get to man mounted mini guns, destroy bridges, steal enemy information The aim of this is to develop a third person viewing mod like Deadspace or Gears of War of which another called class is TPS game.

Gameplay: rolling, sliding , special skills and slow motion will be supported for a way of a new playing style and these funny functions will enable you to kill enemies, as you will be able to be constantly avoiding enemy's bullets; moreover, all of these actions will be shown through third person viewing; not only you can fight enemies but also sometimes you can infiltrate enemies camp; but the number of the weapons which can be used for this strategy is only two e.

The protagonist's native place is Trinity planet and the whole story line of this mod tells us that he starts his journey for retaking his homeland occupied by the race of which name is darknebular. There are Blackwarrior's own additional stages - if you clear map 30, you will be able to play map Contains converted textures, flats, enemies, weapons and items from the Monolith Productions game.

All are fully Deathmatch and Co-op compatible. Doom 64 is a not so well known port of Doom for the Nintendo Unlike the ports for other consoles, it's not exactly a port, but a completely new game, featuring completely new levels, textures, sprites, enemies, and a new plot that takes place right after the events of Doom 2, and it's plot strongly suggests to be the prequel to "Doom " as it be considered a reasonable explanation of how the Doom Marine stayed in Hell and became known as the "Doom Slayer" thus being considered canonical to the series by many fan theories, and being the TRUE Doom 3.

The Doomsday engine is today considered obsolete, and a Doomworld user called Nightside successfully ported all maps to work on GZDoom, but has given up the project. Brutal Doom 64 aims to continue this project of "porting" actually recreating from scratch Doom 64 to GZDoom and Zandronum engines. Unlike Doom 64 EX or Doom 64 Absolution the goal of this project is not to make a port of Doom 64 for PC, but to enhance it in every possible way, bringing the satisfying gore and gunplay of Brutal Doom, new sounds and special effects that greatly enhances the oppressive atmosphere of D64, and attempting to include all the content cut from the original game due the cartridge space of the N What it includes: All weapons revamped to feature new sounds, animations, and have greater feedback; Several stuff that were removed from the final game, such as Revenants, Masterminds, a weapon that was shown in an old magazine featuring an interview with the D64 devs that never got added into the final game, and an enemy called Hellhound which was also cut due the N64's cartridge space; New gore featuring dismemberments, gibs, new blood splashes, blood decals on the walls, floor, and ceiling; Brightmaps such as monsters eyes glowing in the dark ; Multiplayer support through the Zandronum sourceport up to 64 players, either Co-Op, Survival Co-Op, and Deathmatch ; Revamped levels featuring new decorations, lightning system, fog, light shafts, etc.

Techbase levels were optimised to have better navigation, new ambient sounds, more security cameras to remove the need of "switch hunting", and having some parts of the levels remade to look like a more plausible place. The Hell levels were also upgraded with new ambient sounds, and more disturbing imagery; Option to play with the Brutal Doom 64 weapons and enemies on regular Doom 2 levels, or with custom maps.

Or play the Brutal Dooom 64 levels with other gameplay mods. A mod for Doom II inspired by Brutal Doom, but this time "brutalizing" Wolfenstein 3D by adding new weapons, enemies, textures, animations, and of course, gore. Lots of it. That's not all though -- the maps from the original game are being redesigned too. The arsenal was remade from zero and now offers new mechanics, new sprites and new animations. Also, we can even dual wield Lugers and MP40s now.

Original Wolfenstein 3D maps was a little boring to play, especially for the fact that didn't have height variations. Maps will have simple enchancements, but enough to make the maps look nicer.

Wandering around the eight or so levels in Chosen you will be hard pressed to find even one stock Doom sprite, texture or even a flat. The entire project takes place in an Egyptian setting and everything from the new music to textures and Egyptian themed monsters and sprites convinces you of this.

There is an amazing boat ride that looks incredible and the weapons are all cleverly original including arrows and hatchets that stay once they've hit. The enemies range from generic archers to the final showdown with an enormous snake who's tail drags along behind him in a very inventive hack of the Zdoom engine.

Chosen easily ranks high this year as one of the shining stars released, as well as a welcomed addition to a long impressive history of Total Conversions in the veign of Aliens and Batman. Doom meets Blood, with a lot of survival horror elements, and no small amount of puzzle solving and exploration. It may only be a single map, but it's gigantic, and you'll be doing a lot of exploring and working things out.

The only downside is a slightly lackluster final boss battle. Expect a moody, dark and scary city filled with zombies, cultists and evil demons. Of course, there are a lot of locked doors and blocked passages, which require finding keys and solving puzzles, but you can move in the city and even around it and the territory around it is quite large itself rather freely.

It's your choice whether you want to look around the houses, visit the cemetery, go deeper in the city, or walk around the mansion and the church located outside the city walls. Multiplayer was later added in v1. City of the Damned, The. A more survival-horror take on Doom, set in the s at an arctic base where things go to hell pretty quickly. The wad features custom weapons, a reloading system, a bleeding system where the player is losing his health constantly when it drops below a certain ammount , one large hub of about 15 maps, connected together, with the ability to travel between them; new enemies, an involving story with a certain plot twist, notes to read and information to learn before you can move on with your mission.

Visual effects were upgraded to take advantage of new features in GZDoom. The snow, which had caused numerous problems in the original release, was replaced with the author's weatherFX2 weather system, which used a much more streamlined and user-friendly approach to creating the snow effects than in the previous version. The weapons code was completely re-done, and many improvements were added to gameplay elements.

In addition to the bug-fixes and gameplay enhancements, the storyline was re-written slightly, and new voice acting was recorded by several members of the ZDoom community to fill in details of the plot that were previously unexplained. This is a gameplay mod inspired by modern shooters. It uses elements of these shooters, bloody screen and all, but without all the brown and bloom.

Features: An experience system that scales based on the amount of enemies, items, and secrets on the map; A perk system to reward experience gained; A dynamic health and stamina regeneration system; Left 4 Dead style healing; Projectile bullet tracer weapons; Reloading, recoil effects, and sprinting; Hotkey grenades and melee attacks.

The planning of this project rivals that of the Manhattan project. Converted Doomer carefully planned each fight and designed the levels that are choreographed, if you will, to make the fights as interesting and varied as the environment itself.

DVII's brilliant design takes the player from location to location, slowly building a story told in the maps. You begin in a secret research lab and journey to Japan, Egypt, Outer Space, Hell, and even Minas Morgul in your quest to defeat the Demonic invasion of earth. Words cannot do justice to the beauty of this wad, but to put it in simple terms: If you do not play this wad, the alleged baby Jesus will kill a kitten.

Doom 64 was released for the Nintendo 64 and had stunning hi-resolution graphics, new enemies, a new weapon, and item designs, and a whole new look. This is the most beautiful and technologically advanced mappack for Doom2 singleplayer.

The DSC takes advantage of the newest features of gzdoom, such as hardware shaders, full-screen post-processing, PBR textures normals and specular maps, also often called "bump mapping" , high-resolution textures, and of course dynamic lighting.

It gives you two different episodes to go through, each giving you various waves of enemies. It also has a ranking system, based on how many you manage to kill. It's actually pretty darn intense with the variety of enemies as well as the audio. This is the sequel of the groundbreaking Mario styled hub-based mod, this time you'll travel through levels with a world map, unlocking new paths by reaching secret exits or by collecting big coins.

You must retrieve 7 Golden Souls stolen by the Cyberdemon's minions in order to save the world Thanks to the feedback of the community, GS2's gameplay is vastly improved over the original game: Higher jumps with an almost full air control. The end result is great for blasting through a megawad with a friend, supporting each other with each classes unique abilities and having something to work towards past just finding the BFG Almost all the glorious weaponry from DoomRL makes an appearance here.

Episode 1: Fuck Time Limits This started as an experiment to try speedmapping. Just get ideas out of the mind and into the editor, stream-of-consciousness work. Then a friend decided to jump on board. Then another friend. Then we had a whole bunch of people making maps, vet and newbie alike, all pushing against a hour deadline to make some ZDoom maps to jump up and down on. Then we compiled them into a single pack and gave 'em one more run through for polish and decoration.

It's a small hub leading to a handful of different maps. Beat each map to unlock the exit, and exit to win. Gameplay mods should be supported. The primary purpose of this project is to have a way for all of the newbies to try and push over that initial hump together, to MAKE something.

It's a way for the vets to lead on some new mappers, welcome them into something they wouldn't normally try. I did, and the response was overwhelming. An unfathomable amount of people signed up for this, and we ended up with a grand total of 68 maps. A hub map, 64 normal maps, a secret map, a final map, and a Marathon map of all things.

As before, we now present to you a small hub leading to a handful of different maps. Pistol start is enforced, and monsters are vanilla except for the Final Boss. Episode 3: BFG Edition For the third iteration, I decided to try something different and expand it to modding, working on weapons in an attempt to get less of a massive conglameration of maps.

Instead, it had the opposite effect - even more people signed up for this compared to last time, and we ended up with a grand total of 80 maps. A hub map, 72 normal maps, six secret maps, and a final map. As before, we now present to you a small hub leading to quite a collection of different maps.

Beat X amount of maps to unlock the exit, with X being a variable depending on the difficulty level ITYTD only requires a handful of maps, Nightmare requires 64 maps , and defeat the final boss to win. You don't often see Egyptian-themed WADs like Epic, and I sure as hell wouldn't mind seeing more of them if they were the same quality as this.

Many are in a more medieval style compared to other wads thanks to Hexen textures and some puzzles are not completely obvious.

As opposed to the Boothill WAD, Fistful has sprite replacements for the trooper, sergeant, commando, and demon, as well as brand new textures for the levels. The implicit story places Doomguy as wanted dead or alive by almost everybody. Fixed latest version Download 1. This is a pornographic modification, being developed by Mike12 aka HDoomGuy. The modification replaces the game's weapon and enemy animations with hentai, turning most demons into nude female counterparts and adding adult animations for the Doomguy.

It also features a work-in-progress visual novel system. Shoot stuff. If they stay down but with hearts all around them for more than a second or two then take them to pound town. SPACE to interact. The original has the reputation of being a very difficult set of maps but additionally it has a lot of good traps and secrets to be found which add up to making it a classic.

Download 2. The entirety of Doom 1 Episode 1 remade using every feature of the ZDoom engine. Levels are long and involving, with tons of new areas inbetween the familiar looking rooms. Many new enemies, a few really cool bosses, and some especially impressive effects cribbed from Doom 3 - the areas where Hell starts 'bleeding through' into the base are excellent. We all know that the Doom movie was terrible.

So when this mod based on that movie is refreshing to find that it's one of the best Doom mods. The coolest gun in the game is the quadruple barrel shotgun. It has nine brand new maps, Coop and DM modes available, SkullTag - Invasion mode Demo , new weapons, smarter monsters, new visual effects and high-def textures.

The game teaches concepts such as mutual fire team support, protection of the automatic rifleman, proper sequencing of an attack, ammunition discipline and succession of command. Doom II's characters have been replaced by Marines and enemy soldiers, and real-world representations have been used to create backgrounds that reflect real-world tactical situations.

The game's combat environment includes buildings, bunkers, holes, berms, tactical emplacements, concertina wire, etc. The terrain can include ditches, hills and other small features. Players use digitized images of M16A1 rifles, M squad automatic weapons and M67 fragmentation grenades against enemies in a variety of terrain and building configurations.

Simulations can be configured for specific missions, e. Digitized embassy floor plans can be incorporated for use in training for rescue missions. Doom supports four players on a network. Each would receive a text file that specifies training objectives and provides information on potential enemy and friendly units. Each member has a different view of the battlefield on his screen. Observers would view an overhead schematic of the battle site on a mapping module.

The team leader would pause a simulation at any point to evaluate a phase of the operation. System requirements: Doom II version 1. It was more than four months in the making and has both new textures and new music for all the levels. Memento Mori 2 was another even better set of levels which have more of a cohesiveness and flow.

First episode of unfinished megawad, which has some of the best and most consistent atmosphere of any wad. Gameplay is perfectly balanced too. A well known mod with 32 new maps in various themes, including new music, weapons, monsters, inventory, textures and graphics. After the Earth invasion a couple of years ago, you still work as a soldier. Suddenly, you received a message about an small invasion occurred on some Earth industries.

The original version, containing 32 levels, was released on 22 October, , and ran on the Zandronum source port. This first release went on to win one of the 22nd Annual Cacowards.

Instead your ship crash-lands and, to make matters worse, something on the planet's surface is jamming your distress beacon.

Naturally it's up to you to explore the planet, stop the interference and get your crew safely home. This is a single player adventure developed by The Coven, featuring twenty new levels, new music and new sprites. Originally the Simpsons Doom was a popular conversion due to fans love of the characters. A talented artist, Myk Friedman, however has now used his superior artistic skills to create superb new animations including deathscenes for all the characters.

It's comparatively short a handfull of huge levels , but the amount of detail and polish is astounding. Great art, music, TONS of new enemies and a lot of content impressively and convincingly crossported from Quake 1. Fantastic level design. This megawad was created by G. The first levels are quite simple, but, as you progress, maps become more and more complex, more and more puzzling, longer and longer. Anyway maps don't ever lack puzzles, which gradually turn trickier and trickier and more and more interesting.

Download 5MB Doom World. The result is a total conversion, a complete Wolfenstein experience which takes full advantage of the DOOM engine. There are even ambient sounds. In addition to recreating the original missions, brand new scenarios such as Operation: Arctic Wolf considered the best pack , Operation: Rheingold, and the Astrostein Trilogy were created which go beyond the original scope and concept of Wolfenstein.

While Eternal is a near-total conversion, featuring all new levels, textures, landscapes, weapons, and music, as well as a completely revamped user interface, most of the characters are retained from the original games. There's fifty-two new levels, some revisiting familiar locations from the original Marathon trilogy. Over six hundred fifty new high-resolution textures, including a dozen original landscape textures, from a variety of human and alien environments.

Eight all new weapons, many of which must be scavenged from your defeated enemies. Over a dozen tracks of original music, including many remixes of your favorite tracks from the original Marathon. And several new creatures and characters, alongside the complete cast from the original trilogy. The official SDL version 1. This contains all 27 original solo levels, all 10 original net levels, and 2 bonus solo levels.

Music is already included. The newly reworked alternative mp3 tracks from Chibi-Usa are compatible with this scenario. The version for SDL v1. The v1. It has 3 bonus solo levels, and one bonus net level. It has fifteen 8-bit and bit Chapter screens including the original seven , an additional Moonscape texture, and a few extra monster types.

This version does not maintain compatibility with the Mac version like the official SDL release does. Unfortunately, the original M2 Shapes lacked a couple monsters and several color types for the existing ones, and the Infinity Shapes gives the M2 scenario some funny textures in places.
